Ministry of Justice
Korean Immigration & Integration Program
Mandatory or provides bonus points when applying for permanent residency (F-5) or nationality (naturalization). Can be used as proof of Korean language proficiency when changing or extending status of stay.
National Institute for International Education
Test of Proficiency in Korean
Used as proof of Korean language proficiency when applying for or changing visas such as Study (D-2), Employment (E-series), Residence (F-2), and Permanent Residence (F-5). A high proficiency level is required.
